Ingredients

2 cup sugar
¹⁄₂ cup lard (scant 1/2 cup)
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder (scant teaspoon)
1 tsp vanilla
5 cup flour
¹⁄₂ cup nuts (if desired)

Instructions

Mix ingredients together. Let stand in refrigerator a few hours or overnight. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
