Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup soft stale bread (crusts removed and shredded into small pieces)
  • 1/4 lb shredded cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs, separated
Instructions
  1. Scald milk. Remove from heat. Add butter, bread and cheese. Beat egg whites until stiff. Beat yolks thick and add milk to mixture. (Pour a little milk mix into egg first before adding to large amount to prevent cooking egg on contact with heat.) Fold in egg whites carefully. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes in a buttered casserole.
