Chocolate Raspberry Brownies

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate and butter in microwave for approximately 2 minutes. Cool slightly. Beat in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Do not overmix. Fold in 1/2 pkg. raspberry chips. Bake in a greased 9 x 13 pan for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Brownies should be just done, not dry. Cool on rack.

  2. Frosting:

    For frosting, beat butter and sugar, adding milk as necessary, to make fluffy frosting (about 5 min.). Beat in vanilla and raspberry jam along with coloring if desired. Frost brownies & refrigerate 30 minutes.

  3. Chocolate Layer:

    Chocolate layer: Melt remaining chips with 1/4 c. butter to spreading consistency. Pour over frosting layer and spread to cover. Refrigerate to set.
