Ingredients
  • Powdered sugar
  • 3 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp flavoring oil or 1 tablespoon flavoring extract
  • 6 drops food coloring

    Put 24 x 18 inch piece of heavy duty aluminum foil on heat resistant surface. Lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar. Mix together sugar, corn syrup and water in heavy 3 1quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and sugar is dissolved. Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310 degrees, or until small amount of mixture separates into hard and brittle threads in cold water. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour onto foil. When cool and hard, break into pieces. Store in airtight container.
