Ingredients

2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup nut meats
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup shortening
4 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Cream the shortening and sugar. Mix thoroughly and add the well-beaten eggs. Sift the flour, cream of tartar and soda together. Add the vanilla to egg mixture and then add the dry ingredients and nut meats. Mix well. Form into rolls about 2 inches in diameter and wrap in waxed paper. Chill and cut into 1/8 inch slices. Bake.at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until done.
