Marbled Bundt Cake

Ingredients
    Peanut Batter:
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
  • Chocolate Batter:
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Topping:
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 10 inch tube pan.

  2. To Prepare Peanut Batter:
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer set on medium speed, beat together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and molasses. 

  4. In a small bowl, mix together flour, cinnamon, baking powder and baking soda.

  5. Reduce mixer speed to low. Alternately beat the flour mixture and buttermilk into the egg mixture. Stir in the nuts.

  6. To Prepare Chocolate Batter:
  7. In another large bowl, using an electric mixer set on medium speed, beat together butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg.

  8. In a small bowl, mix together the flour and baking powder.

  9. Reduce mixer speed to low. Alternately beat flour mixture and milk into egg mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips.

  10. To Prepare The Topping:
  11. In a small bowl mix together the butter and molasses. Spread topping evenly in prepared pan. Sprinkle with the nuts.

  12. Alternately spoon the peanut and the chocolate batters into the pan. Using a knife, cut and twist through the batters to create a marbled effect.

  13. Bake until toothpick inserted near center of cake comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Transfer pan to wire rack to cool completely. Turn cake out onto rack. Serve warm.
