Old-Fashioned Split Pea Soup

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cover peas with water and soak overnight. Drain.

  2. Add 2 ½ (or 2 quarts) water, ham bone, onion and seasonings. Bring to a boil and simmer 2 hours. Stir occasionally.

  3. Remove bone; cut off any bits of meat. Return meat to soup and add remaining ingredients.

  4. Cook slowly 45 minutes.
