1/2cup poppy seed soaked in 1 cup milk for 30 minutes
2/3cup shortening
1 1/2cup sugar
2cup sifted flour
2tsp baking powder
1/4tsp salt
1 1/2tsp vanilla
4 egg whites, beaten stiff
Instructions
Cream together shortening and sugar and add poppy seed mixture. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add to first mixture. Add vanilla. Fold in egg whites. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes in greased and floured 9 x 13 pan.
