Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients
  • 2 cup sifted flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Resift flour with baking powder. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Cover and chill.

  2. Roll out on lightly floured board to ΒΌ inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes until edges are very lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. If desired, sprinkle with sugar while cookies are still warm.
