1 cup butter
³⁄₄ cup brown sugar
³⁄₄ cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda (mixed in a tablespoon of water)
2 ¹⁄₄ cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup chopped nuts
1 package chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, soda and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy. Blend in flour and salt; stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
